Important information for students studying at our partner institutions

Please contact the Admissions Team at your Partner Institution if you have any questions about your application including:

  • Changing your personal details
  • Withdrawing your application
  • You have not been invited to register

Key contacts for your Institution can be found on your individual Partner Institution Page:

All students, regardless of where they study, are required to register with Canterbury Christ Church University at the start of each new year of study. If you do not register when requested, this can have implications on your fees payments as outlined within the Fees and Funding (UK Partners) section below.

Once registration for your course is open and you are eligible to register/re-register, you will receive an email from Canterbury Christ Church University inviting you to do so*.

You will only be able to register/re-register after this email has been sent.

*You may also be asked to register with your Partner Institution, this does NOT mean you have registered with the University and you MUST still follow the University registration process when asked to do so.

You will need your CCCU username to log in to CCCU's online services throughout your studies. This includes the CCCU student portal MyRecord which is where you can:

Both CCCU and your place of study require up-to-date contact details for you. Once you have a CCCU computing account, you can change your contact details at any time via MyRecord.

If you are entitled to an undergraduate maintenance loan, when you receive your payments is dependent on when you register with the University:

When you Register

When you receive your Fee Payments

If you are fully registered with the University before the start of your course You will receive your first payment on the scheduled instalment date as per your Financial Notification from Student Finance. This is usually the start date of your course.
If you register close to or after your course start date Your loan will be paid within 7 working days of registering

You may notice that it continues to say 'awaiting confirmation' on your Student Finance England portal even after you have completed registration. This is perfectly normal as it usually takes 24-48 hours for your status to be updated once the University has confirmed your registration.

Any information that does not match (i.e., Names, date of birth, year of study and course title) WILL cause a delay in the processing of your payment.

If you still have not received your maintenance loan after 7 working days of your registration and your course has already started, please contact your partner institution.

For all other general fees and finance queries, please also contact your partner institution. You can find the specific contact details on your partner page.

If you decide to interrupt or withdraw from your studies, there may still be fees due. You can find out more about any financial implications associated with withdrawing or interrupting here.

Council Tax can cost households over £100 a month but, if you are a full-time student and fully registered for the current year of study, you may be exempt.

If your circumstances mean you are exempt from paying council tax, you will be able to get an exemption certificate via MyRecord. Once everyone who is applicable in your household has their exemption certificate, you should send them together in the same envelope to your local council.

Always seek early advice if you receive a bill and you are not sure why.

Your studies

You will be expected to attend lessons, study at home and submit work on time.

Your partner institution is responsible for the management of your studies, including your timetable. You will be given a teaching timetable each term, which will tell you when your classes are, when you need to submit your assignments and when your exams will be.

If you wish to make a change to your studies (e.g. to interrupt or withdraw), it is very important that you advise Canterbury Christ Church University as well as your place of study. This will ensure you are aware of any financial implications, and can access the appropriate resources and support.

Allegations of academic misconduct are taken very seriously with the most severe consequence being withdrawn from the course. Examples of academic misconduct include contract cheating and plagiarism. Plagiarism is defined as taking another person’s work or idea and claiming it as your own. To avoid plagiarism when writing assignments, make sure you reference other work correctly.

If you feel you have grounds to appeal against the decision-making process of a university body, this process is outlined in the University’s Official Academic Appeal Procedure.

If you feel you have grounds for complaint, then you should raise the matter with staff at your place of study and follow your institution’s own complaints procedure. They will look into your complaint and try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with their response, they will explain to you how to progress the complaint to the formal stage if necessary. For more information, please see our Complaints Procedure for students at partner institutions.

Your assessments and results

It’s important that you complete your assessments when due and attend your exams.

You must ensure that you are available for your exams, which are published in advance of the assessment periods.

The exceptional circumstances process enables you to request a short coursework extension or a further chance to take an exam or time-constrained assessment if you are facing challenges that are short-term (e.g., 1-2 weeks), exceptional, unexpected and beyond your control.

There are three types of exceptional circumstances request:

Each type of exceptional circumstances request has a different purpose and criteria, and it's important you choose the right one for your situation.

Partner students need to make an exceptional circumstances request using the forms available from their Course Administrative team within their Partner Institution.

You will receive a notification to your CCCU email address that your results are ready. You can then access and download your academic results by logging into MyRecord (in the ‘My Studies’ tab, under ‘My Assessments’).

Your final degree certificate and HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report) transcript may be posted to your home address (as stated in MyRecord at the time of posting) or to your place of study. If in doubt, please check with your place of study.
