The NHS Learning Support Fund of £5,000 is available to a range of healthcare students, awarded by the government.

What do you get?

You will receive £5,000 per academic year by the government.

Who is this for?

You will be eligible for this course if you study one of the following courses:

  • Diagnostic Radiography
  • Adult Nursing
  • Child Nursing
  • Mental Health Nursing
  • Operating Department Practice
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Paramedic Science
  • Physiotherapy
  • Speech and Language Therapy.

If you’re studying Mental Health Nursing or Diagnostic Radiography, you’ll receive an extra £1,000 per year from the government.

How do you apply?

Create an NHS LSF account on the NHS website.

You must apply within six months of starting your course.

When will you be paid?

Payments will be made in three instalments throughout each academic year. Dates depend on when your course starts.

What do you need to know?

If you are planning to undertake nursing or allied health professional subjects (except paramedic science) as a second degree, you will currently be able to access the standard student support system on the same terms as students studying for a first degree.
