Scholarship focus: Early years outdoors

CCCU is committed to research that contributes to the shaping of sustainable futures. Within the subject area of Education, Childhood and Youth Studies, a key priority is understanding the significance of different living and learning contexts for child and planetary wellbeing. We have specific expertise in the area of outdoor learning (led by Dr Nicola Kemp, Dr Marianna Papadopoulou, and Dr Karen Vincent) and for this year’s scholarship, we would particularly welcome original proposals that can make a significant contribution by:

  • focusing on the outdoor experiences of young children (birth to five) in either formal (ECEC settings), informal (community), or home environments
  • adopting innovative methodologies and methods that can provide insights into what is happening in these places and spaces.

For further details or to arrange an informal discussion about your proposal please contact Dr Nicola Kemp.
