General Regulations for the Conferment of Awards
This document sets out the broad regulations on the types of award the University can approve.
It contains regulations on language of assessment; entry requirements; periods and levels of study; the award of credit; academic appeals, the use of discretion notwithstanding the regulations; posthumous and aegrotat awards and Academic Board’s oversight responsibilities.
These regulations are applicable to:
- Undergraduate students who registered from September 2017 onwards,
- Postgraduate Taught students who registered from September 2019 onwards* and
- Students that have been transferred to the Regulations for Taught Awards from the Outgoing Regulations.
* Postgraduate Taught students under the Outgoing regulations who interrupt from September 2020 will return to their studies on the Regulations for Taught Awards.
