Eligible students on Semester-based courses will be able to choose their optional modules for the 2025/26 academic year from 10am on Wednesday 12 March 2025.

Module choice gives you the opportunity to focus on topics and themes that are of interest to you, supporting you to build the knowledge and skills that you need for your chosen pathway of study or your future career. The more engaged you are in your learning, the more likely you are to succeed. When we are ready for you to choose your 2025-26 modules in MyRecord, you’ll receive an email to your university email address inviting you to do so.

You’ll have until 5pm on Wednesday 26 March 2025 to make your choices. If you miss the deadline, your course team will make your choices for you based on what they believe to be most appropriate.

Getting ready

  • If you’re eligible to take part in the module choice process, your Course Director/year tutors will have provided you with guidance about the modules available to you next year. Please make sure that you review this before you make your choices, as different courses have different requirements. Reach out to your tutors if you need any clarification or further advice.

  • If you're a part-time student and not sure how many credits/modules you should choose, now’s a good time to check with your Course team.

  • So you don’t forget or run out of time, make plans for where and when you’ll make your choices. We recommend that you use a computer to log in to MyRecord rather than a mobile device, and use Chrome as a browser - there’s a lot of information on display so you’ll find it easier with a larger screen rather than a tablet or a smartphone.

  • Keep a close eye on your University email account on Wednesday 12 March, so you don’t miss your confirmation that the process is underway.

  • If you're curious to know what the process involves, you can have a preview by taking a look at our guide to module choice or this short video.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to focus on the topics and themes that are of most interest to you. Remember, the more engaged you are in your studies, the more likely you are to succeed!

Please note: Module choice is an expression of preference and subject to the availability of places on each module.
