Headings enable you to give titles to certain sidebar features which otherwise wouldn’t have one, such as in-page navigation or related links. This provides a simple prompt to give context to the sidebar content below the heading.

Adding a heading is very simple. Simply select the ‘Heading’ component in the Sidebar Content and add the relevant text.

It’s best to keep headings short and punchy. It looks like this in Contensis:

You can find this heading on this page on the live site, with links added below it.

Headings and link options

You can add several different components beneath a heading, but typically you’d be adding links to other pages on or off our website. The main components you can add below a heading are as follows. Click on the title of each link type to find guidance on how to use it:

  • In-page navigation which allows you to provide stylised links to Hub Landing, Tabbed Hub Landing or About Us Landing page types
  • Sidebar subsection links which allow you to link out to hub landing pages within Contensis, and their sub-pages. This allows for a way of showing people where they are within a website section, and an easy route to navigate back to a landing page or another page related to what they’re looking at.
  • Related links, which allows you to provide supplementary links to external pages and the following internal page types: content pages, hub landing page, homepage and internal template links.

Once you’ve added your heading and required component beneath, save and preview the page before publishing.
