LiveWell

Your Wellbeing Starts Here

LiveWell is an active living programme designed to help with stress, low self-esteem, anxiety or a persistent low mood.

Why LiveWell?

Unlock a healthier, happier you. Studies have shown that physical activity is a powerful tool for enhancing mental wellbeing. With LiveWell, we've tailored a comprehensive programme to seamlessly integrate active living into your routine, promoting a positive and resilient mindset.

LiveWell is designed to help students and staff at Canterbury Christ Church University with low mental wellbeing, such as elevated levels of stress, low self-esteem, anxiety, or depression.

The LiveWell 6-week programme provides a hands-on opportunity for students and staff to develop an understanding of how an active lifestyle can improve physical and mental wellbeing.

Through your own personal advisor, the programme teaches you a new approach to being more physically active; providing the tools needed to help get active and demonstrating a holistic approach to wellbeing.

You’ll have access to everything the University can offer, from apps that reward you or give you information like tutorials on stress, sleep and nutrition, to groups, nature walks and a free gym membership with access to fitness classes.

LiveWell in detail

LiveWell is a 6-week programme which includes one-on-one catch-ups with your own personal advisor. The catch-ups last around 30 minutes, during this time we discuss topics that can help improve your wellbeing, including stress management, nutrition, mindfulness, physical activity, and sleep management. We may also do a bit of activity such as walking, indoor croquet, ball games or other things you might like to try.

In between the weekly catch-ups, you have an additional option to join University activities such as:

  • Gardening, in partnership with the Academy for Sustainable Futures
  • Nutrition Support, in partnership with SportsLab
  • Boardgame club, in partnership with the School of Creative Arts and Industries
  • Gym and Class access, in partnership with Sport and Active Health

Additionally, you have access to Moves and Spectrum Life. Moves is an app that rewards you just for being active - the app gives you points that you can convert into prizes. Spectrum Life is a wellbeing platform that can support you with fitness tips, nutrition support, webinars on managing tasks in life and fitness classes that you can do at home or your desk.

If you would like someone additional to talk to, we will signpost you to talking groups like the Chaplaincy and Student Support Services. These include:

  • Teat at Three, in partnership with the Chaplaincy
