Whatever your faith – or even if you have no faith at all – Christ Church is welcoming to all.
No matter who you are, where you’re from or what you believe, our Chaplaincy is here for you.
Our team of practising Christians hold regular services in the Chapel at Canterbury and online. They also visit our other campuses to support all our students.
Additionally, we have an Inter-Faith Council, Buddhist meditation rooms, quiet spaces, and Muslim prayer rooms.
For over 50 years the Chaplaincy has been praying daily for our University, blessing the buildings, and supporting the community as it goes about its daily life.
Our Chaplaincy team is happy to pray and share prayer times with others, both in person and online. You’ll also find spaces where you can meditate, pray on your own or with others, or have others offer prayer for you in the Chapel and the Chaplaincy Centre.
Our experienced Chaplains have decades of ministry between them. They can help you explore your own faith journey and give you advice from a Christian perspective. The Chaplains have a distinct belief and they recognise the value of sharing their faith with others and helping people make connections with their own faith tradition.

Experiencing bereavement is both painful and stressful. It’s important that you get the help you need to support you through the grieving process.
The Chaplaincy and Student Wellbeing Team are available to support you, either on your own or in a group. It can be very helpful to talk, as it enables you to process what has happened and how you feel.
As ordained Anglican ministers, the Chaplaincy team is experienced in supporting people facing and experiencing death and bereavement. The team is on hand to support students, staff, and their families, of any faith, as they confront death and the loss of a loved one. The Chaplains can offer you a listening ear and safe space to explore your feelings and emotions surrounding death, as well as practical support.
Further emotional support is also available through the Student Wellbeing Team.
Hidden within the campus are a number of quiet garden spaces, such as the Johnson gardens and Erasmus upper level garden beside Maxwell Davies. Just outside main campus, Priory Gardens and the former cemetery at St Gregory's Music Centre are usually peaceful green spaces to visit.
The Chaplains at both Canterbury and Medway host a range of regular events around faith, wellbeing, and connection.
