In this fast-paced one-hour masterclass, students will deepen their understanding key issues relating to the American Civil rights.

In this fast-paced one-hour masterclass with an academic and/or ambassadors, students will deepen their understanding key issues relating to the American Civil rights. Students will examine the fight for civil rights in late 1960s America critically examining civil rights priorities, strategies, and politics. Please specify your preferred topic(s) at the time of booking.

Possible topics include:

  • Student Power: Direct action and the civil rights movement (focusing on founding of Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) in 1960)
  • People Power (focusing on the founding of the Black Panther Party (BBP) in 1966).
