Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of research design, analysis and selection of sources and/or critical evaluation strategies.
In this hands-on workshop, your students will be introduced to the fundamentals of research design, analysis and selection of sources and/or critical evaluation strategies. The session can be tailored to specific topics and supports students to achieve key EPQ and IBCP assessment outcomes.
For the EPQ this includes: designing and planning their own project; finding appropriate sources/evidence; interpreting/analysing the evidence; and drawing conclusions/engaging with counter arguments.
For the IBCP Reflective Project this includes: building students’ confidence in identifying and analysing their ethical dilemma, and discussing and evaluating the implications for their career-related study.
Please notify the team when booking whether you would prefer a humanities or arts/artefact focused session and if you are booking for EPQ or IBCP
The workshop focuses on supporting your students in their decision-making and problem solving, to become critical, independent, reflective learners, with a strong link to higher education and future employability. The two-hour session with an academic and/or Postgraduate ambassadors can be extended to include opportunity for a tour and use of the library facilities (supported by the SCE team and student ambassadors).
Depending on group sizes and academic availability this may be offered as a multi-school event.
