Mrs Lisa Pittock

Senior Lecturer

School of Allied and Public Health Professions

Lisa is a Senior Lecturer and Pathway Leader for PgC Clinical Reporting (musculoskeletal).

I began my academic career at this university in 2011. After a year as Course Director for the BSc Diagnostic Radiography course, I became Course Director for the MSc Clinical Reporting in 2015. I have also been pathway leader for each of our reporting courses, and I am currently lead for the musculoskeletal radiography pathway. This experience has given me a detailed overview of the full range of our course delivery, academic management processes and supporting the needs of our students.

Clinically I worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer for over 20 years in the NHS in East Kent. My roles were varied, and I have experience in general radiography, mammography, PACS management and MRI as well as appendicular and axial reporting. My qualifications also include PgC in Learning and Teaching and I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I have delivered many study days and consultancy related to radiographer reporting including PCE for MRI and IOFB interpretation for radiographers. In 2017 I co-delivered PCE teaching to radiographers in Finland.

I have organised and co-delivered study days in MRI Preliminary Clinical Evaluation and IOFB interpretation. Additional activities have included leading and teaching on the short course in Preliminary Clinical Evaluation (appendicular skeleton) for a range of healthcare professionals.

From 2021-2024, I was seconded part time to the Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS) as a Senior Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography and continue to teach there as a sessional lecturer.

My research includes radiography advanced practice, clinical reporting by radiographers, and preliminary clinical evaluation. As an MSc supervisor, I have had several students publish their work across a range of clinical reporting topics.

I am an assessor for the SCoR Accreditation and Approval board and Honorary Secretary/ trustee for the World Radiography Educational Trust Fund.

I am an external examiner for the University of Suffolk.

Retaining my clinical reporting skills is important to me and I continue to undertake musculoskeletal reporting.
