Canterbury Christ Church University awarded Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

Canterbury Christ Church University has received a second successive Silver award in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes for its students.
The University ranked Silver overall and Silver in both student experience and student outcomes.
The award reflects the University’s priority and focus on delivering a transformative experience. It highlights the dedication of skilled staff who support our students to reach their ambitions, achieve their potential to exceed and to continue their success as graduates.
We are delighted to receive the Silver TEF award, which recognises the teaching impact and strengths of our dedicated staff who are deeply committed to delivering an excellent educational experience for our students. Canterbury Christ Church University has a long and proud history of providing education that makes a transformative difference to people’s lives. We are focused on inclusive learning opportunities for all and are committed to increasing social mobility through widening access to higher education. The panel highlights clear evidence of the University’s:
- Very high quality in teaching, assessment and feedback.
- Students and staff working in partnership on projects, including working with the Students' Union in engaging students.
- Student experience features of very high quality for all groups of students and courses and most student outcomes features to be of very high quality for all the provider’s groups of students, including students from underrepresented groups, and courses. The panel also found there to be some outstanding quality student outcomes features.
- Recognition for progression and completion rates in particular our work improving progression rates for underrepresented groups.
- Recognition of significant investment in learning resources including physical and digital resources, redevelopment of facilities and new buildings, and use of online learning environments to support flexible, accessible and personalised learning.

I’d like to thank our staff and students for their contribution to the submission and their ongoing commitment and hard work in enabling our students to succeed in all aspects including learning, teaching and assessment, and preparation for careers and employment following their time at our University.
“As we move forward with our Vision 2030 and the new Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy, we will continue to build on the good practice highlighted by the TEF to ensure we achieve our vision of developing a reputation for outstanding learning and teaching for all students. We hope to highlight some of this good practice at our November Learning and Teaching Conference and use that as an opportunity to showcase and celebrate.”
