Introduction to research metrics
This module will look at traditional research metrics before moving on to examine the development of responsible metrics and how and why these should be used.
Learning Outcomes
- To learn about and understand traditional research metrics and their problems.
- To learn about and understand why altmetrics were developed, how they are used, and their problems.
- To learn about the emergence of the responsible metrics movement and how responsible metrics can be used to improve the fairness and usefulness of research evaluation.
