At CCCU, we understand the importance of considering sustainability in our business practices. That's why we teamed up with Bond and Coyne and Morally Made, aiming to make responsible choices and reduce our environmental impact. Our UCAS stand incorporates bespoke furniture, refurbished technology, and a modular T3 system, all with sustainability as our guiding principle. Rather than labelling it as simply "sustainable," we approached its creation with practices aimed at minimising waste and ensuring it lasts for years to come.
Valchromat, our primary material, has low toxicity and is child-safe. Its manufacturing process minimises waste and energy consumption.
We also use a 0% VOC and environmentally safe finish to seal and protect the material, further reducing our environmental footprint.
Morally Made prioritised circular design principles, ensuring the stand is designed for refurbishment, repair, replacement, and remanufacture.
By utilising materials such as Valchromat and implementing techniques like direct printing, the stand retains its repurposability even at the end of its lifecycle. Components are crafted with the future in mind, minimising waste and maximising material value.
Morally Made achieved a 90% material efficiency during the design stage.
Careful consideration of component widths minimised offcuts, reducing waste to primarily cutting or drilling remnants.
