We're so proud to support Medway Pride as part of the Universities at Medway again this year! We’ll be marching with our LGBTQIA+ community and allies in the parade, as well as hosting a stall at the festival celebrations.

Medway Pride 2024 will take place on Saturday 17 August, with Medway Pride Fringe happening across Chatham and Rochester from 12-17 August.

Join the parade! Sign up here to celebrate with us.

Or if you'd like to come along just for the community festival at the Castle, get your free tickets here.

You can also visit us anytime during Pride at our stall, where you can join in the celebrations, write a message to your future self, and get some Pride goodies.

Medway Pride will begin with a festival parade along Rochester High Street to Rochester Castle, with participants from all communities, sponsors, members, or allies of the LGBTQIA+ communities of Medway and beyond. The parade will end with a community festival at Rochester Castle with stage-based entertainment, community stalls, and local supportive businesses providing food, drink and memorabilia.

Get the latest on the line-up and events for Medway Pride and Medway Pride Fringe on the Medway Pride webpages.

What is Pride?

Pride is a powerful celebration of LGBTQIA+ identity. Pride marches began in Chicago, LA, New York and San Francisco in 1970 following the Stonewall protests, raising awareness of the discrimination faced by the LGBTQIA+ community and inspiring the widening LGBTQIA+ movement. Today Pride is celebrated in cities all over the world.

Medway Pride allows us to show support for each other without discrimination or prejudice, to bond as a community, and come together to celebrate equality and progress.
