Students will deepen their understanding of the principles of the polymerase chain reaction as a method to amplify DNA fragments.

In this interactive four-hour workshop with an academic and/or postgraduate ambassadors, students will deepen their understanding of the principles of the polymerase chain reaction as a method to amplify DNA fragments and its breadth of uses across forensic, medical, and environmental sciences. Using our state-of-the-art facilities students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge to amplifying segments of DNA from E. Coli, and have opportunity to critically discuss ethical, financial or social issues associated with the use of recombinant DNA technology.
