Dr Karen Addy

Clinical Practice Director Clinical Neuropsychology

School of Psychology and Life Sciences

I am part of the Neuropsychology Training team based at Salomons Institue for Applied Psychology.

I joined CCCU in September 2022 having previously worked in an academic role at Bangor University part time.

I am part time at CCCU leading the PGCert Clinical Neuropsychology Practice programme which is designed to support the training of applied psychologists in Neuropsychology. In addition to my academic role at CCCU I am a Consultant Neuropsychologist working in independent clinical practice. I completed my Clinical Psychology doctorate in 2005 at the University of Manchester, then went to work in NHS neurology services whilst training in Clinical Neuropsychology.

In 2012 I qualified as a Neuropsychologist with eligibility to join the British Psychological Society's, Specialist Register of Neuropsychologists. I remained in the NHS until 2015 when I left to work in independent clinical practice and in academia supporting clinical training for applied psychologists and aspiring neuropsychologists.

I am delighted to join the CCCU team at Salomons and excited to contribute to the development and future of clinical neuropsychology practice in the UK.

I have worked in Academia all of my professional career as an associate lecturer before joining the MSc Applied psychology team at Bangor University in 2019.

During my time at Bangor I completed the PGCertHE programme and am an associate of the institute of higher education. My passion is clinical practice and supporting aspiring Neuropsychologists in developing evidence based ethical clinical practice.

My role at CCCU is as the director of Clinical Neuropsychology Practice running the PGCert in Clinical Neuropsychology Practice as part of the Salomons Neuropsychology training programmes.
