Each catering outlet offers a unique experience providing a diverse range of food and drink in various locations across our campus network.
Whether you are after a quick coffee on route to lectures, or want to take in the sun while on lunch. There's a space for you.

When are we open and what's on the menu?
The Food Court (Anselm)
Monday- Friday, 8am - 3.00pm
The Food Court is our largest catering outlet on campus and with a big seating area is a great place to have a small catch up with friends and have lunch with all of your classmates. The Food Court consists of different food bars to choose from:
- Breakfast Bar – home to the fantastic value 5-item cooked breakfast. Also offering quick grab and go options, with cereals, yogurts, pain au chocolate and croissant for those on the go.
- Meet the Street – serving a variety of street style food from pulled pork rolls with homemade slaw to jumbo bratwurst hotdogs and katsu curry wraps.
- Heat n Spice – looking for something nice or a bit of spice? Come to the Wok and experience theatre food made fresh in front of your very eyes. Featuring Indian and Asian cuisine and international dishes from across the globe.
- Express Bar – featuring favourites such as tortilla wraps, box meals, pizza, and classic burgers. Here you will also find our Helping Hand Menu where you can find hot and nutritious meals on a budget where all items are £3.00 or less.
- Salad Bar – Fresh salad daily to eat in or takeaway. The salad bar features the popular favourites, as well as daily extras from pastas and couscous to potato salad and coleslaw.
There is also a Heat and Eat space with microwaves, hot water boiler, washing up facilities, and vending machines for those who want to bring their own meals to campus.
Touchdown Café (Laud)
Monday- Thursday, 8am - 6pm
Friday, 8am - 5pm
The largest coffee shop on campus! Sip on freshly brewed café direct coffee paired with warm croissants for the perfect start to your day on campus. Choose from a variety of Fairtrade items for an ethical breakfast or lunch. Our menu offers hot and cold pastries, including vegan and gluten-free options, plus an array of delightful cakes and sweet treats.
Coffee Dock (Verena Holmes)
Monday- Friday, 8am - 5pm
Whether you are picking up a drink on the go or looking for a light bite the Coffee Dock has everything you need. Offering seasonal goodies it regularly features warming toasties and soups in the winter and fresh salads and jacket potatoes in the summer.
The Streatery, Abbey Square
Monday-Friday, 11am - 3pm
Whether you are after smash burgers and loaded fries from the main menu, or one of our daily specials inspired from dishes from across the world - there is something for everyone at The Streatery! An outdoor outlet located in the middle of Abbey Square, next to the Verena Holmes Building, this outlet is the perfect place meet up with friends over a tasty lunch.
The Lounge Bar and Kitchen, St' Georges Centre
Monday to Friday, 3 - 10pm
Just a stone's throw from the town centre and a short walk from campus, the Lounge is the only exclusive student bar in the city centre. Dive into a week full of excitement with nightly events like Final Whistle, Society Takeover nights, karaoke, and the Live Lounge showcasing the best of student and local talent.
The Lounge is accredited by the Canterbury Best Bar None scheme and works with police and other agencies to encourage safety in the night-time economy. A Best Bar None venue will have trained staff to assist you if you ever feel uncomfortable in a situation within their premises. Just approach any member of staff and “Ask for Angela”. This is a code word to alert staff that you need support, and they will take care of you.
Atrium Café
Monday- Friday, 8am - 5pm
Coffee Pod
Monday- Friday, 8.30am - 3pm
Located in the heart of the library, Augustine House Atrium Café serves an array of hot and cold, breakfast and lunchtime treats. Enjoy our pre-packed sandwiches, salads, and paninis, or tuck in to our daily hot dishes or fresh salad bar. Don't miss the Atrium Coffee Pod, your haven for Grumpy Mule barista coffee, accompanied by a tempting selection of fresh hot and cold pastries and cakes.
Touchdown Café
Monday- Thursday, 8am - 4.30pm
Friday, 8 am - 3.30pm
Immerse yourself in the world of freshly brewed barista coffee and quick, delicious bites at Touchdown in Rowan Williams Court. Start your day right with a morning latte, cappuccino, or macchiato paired with a warm croissant, or fuel up with our unbeatable 5-item breakfast. A variety of pre-packaged, Fairtrade items, making it easy to opt for ethical and sustainable products for your breakfast or lunch.
Term time opening
Please note that the times stated above are during term time and will vary during holidays. When we are closed we have a range of vending options available 24/7, alongside social spaces to heat your own food and drink.
Allergen and nutritional information on our food
The Catering Department is passionate about supporting our CCCU community to make well-informed choices regarding allergies, food intolerance, and dietary and religious beliefs requirements.
You'll find allergen sheets prominently displayed in all our outlets to help you make informed decisions. Details are also available via the Nutritional Portal, with information also on this webpage.

Services, sustainability, discounts and deals
CCCU is a cashless campus. UPay is a cashless and secure payment system which you can use to buy refreshments from our on-campus catering and food outlets (but not vending machines). You, and other people that you nominate, can upload funds to your UPay account from any smartphone, tablet or PC, to help you budget. It also provides access to exclusive deals, offers, free food and loyalty rewards such as:
- Loyalty offers – reward coins on our most popular items including hot drinks and our 5-item breakfast.
- Hot drink tokens – pre-purchase your hot drinks in various multiples to make savings.
- U-don’t pay – students and staff who opt-in to push notifications get notified when free food is available in our outlets that would otherwise go to waste.
To get going, download the UPay app via The App Store, Google Play or www.upay.co.uk and register for an account. To sign in for the first time, use the Single Sign On option (look for the Microsoft logo, and then enter your University computing username and password), after which you can make use of Touch ID if you prefer.
Before you can make your first purchase, you’ll need to add funds to your account. You can top up any amount between £20-100, on a pay-as-you-go basis, or by setting up auto top-ups for a fixed amount.
Once your account is set up, simply pay for your on-campus food and drink at the till by scanning the in-app QR code.
