Spring has arrived, and April at CCCU is bursting with exciting opportunities! From enhancing your studies to engaging in student life, from taking a wellbeing break to going green, from building your CV to enjoying some culture - there is so much to get involved with this month!

There is a range of study support to help you succeed at uni. Check out what’s on offer so you feel prepared to do your best in any upcoming assessments and exams you may have:

  • Augustine House is open 24/7 but be sure to check out the library website for Easter opening hours.
  • LibrarySearch has received a major update with new discovery tools and features – offering you complimentary resources to support your studies.
  • Explore a range of assessment learning resources from 14 April on the ground floor of Augustine House or drop by the Academic Success Session with the Learning Skills Team on 28 April from 11.30am-1.30pm in Rowan Williams Court Touchdown.

  • Develop your IT skills and succeed in today’s technologically evolving world with FREE IT training and certification courses
  • Plus, remember the Learning Skills Hub offers online modules to help you manage anxiety around exams and other assessment activities.

MyRecord upgrade

MyRecord will be offline on 7 April for 48 hours for its annual upgrade. Please note that students will not be able to access the system during this time.

Your wellbeing

Make time to focus on your wellbeing and take a break from your studies:

  • StressLess is back on 1 April with some of your favourite activities. Join the team on the second-floor terrace of Augustine House to soak in the sun (fingers crossed) and take a well-deserved break from your studies.
  • Join the Medway Campus Chaplin on 4 and 16 April for Chill n’ Chat and get free chocolate.  

  • Stop by the Exam de-stress Café for Stress Awareness Month on 9 April, 11am – 2pm at the Student Centre in the Blake Building. 

  • Check out Tea at 3 every weekday for a FREE hot drink and an informal chat, courtesy of the Chaplaincy.
  • Chooseday Chill is every Tuesday in Augustine House. Chat with the Student Wellbeing Team, play some games, and have a hot drink and toast on us!
  • The Wellbeing Café offers a safe space for you to chat about finances, your wellbeing, and more, every Thursday in the Food Court.

Log on to Handshake and book onto a range of workshops and events to boost your employability skills. From help with writing your CV and cover letter, to creating and building a LinkedIn account, plus you can secure your spot on the four-part interview workshop series, helping you land your dream job.

Don’t miss out on all the free events on offer and make the most of your student life.

  • Come meet some furry friends and discover the healing power of animal-assisted therapy at pets as therapy on 1 April from 12pm at the Medway Hub.

  • The Medway Hub is providing you with FREE community breakfast on 1 and 3 April from 10am – 12pm and FREE community dinner on 2 April, 4 – 6pm at the Deep End!  

  • Shake off the gloom of winter and celebrate a new season with a weekend of walks and talks to get you thinking, moving, and discovering local histories and big ideas at the Canterbury Festival Step into Spring, 4- 7 April
  • Fancy a Friday Night In with free Domino's pizza and social sport? Come to the Sports Centre on 25 Apil, 6-9pm for some wholesome fun!
  • Check out a range of Arts and Culture events. With visual exhibitions across the Canterbury Campus, plus a range of lectures, symposiums, and a musical repertoire, there is something for everyone.

Sustainability events

  • Head to the Johnson Wellbeing Garden for Potter and Prune every Wednesday from 2 – 4pm.
  • Stop by the Refillable Van with your reusable containers on the last Thursday of every month and stock-up on dried goods and your everyday household items.

  • Dr Fatou Baldeh, a PhD student in Global Public Health at CCCU is a woman making international headlines. She is recognised across the globe as a women’s rights activist and has recently been recognised as one of TIME’s Women of The Year for 2025.
