University welcomes Government announcement on EU students' fee status
02 July 2018
Canterbury Christ Church University has welcomed today’s Government announcement that students from the European Union starting courses in England in the 2019/20 academic year will continue to be treated as UK students, in terms of fees and financial support, for the duration of their studies
Professor David Shepherd, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University, said: “This is welcome news for the University and the higher education sector, which has long been calling for clarity on the status of EU students immediately after Brexit.
"EU students make a significant contribution to the sector and to the University, and EU applicants can now apply to join us in 2019 with the assurance that they will continue to be treated in the same manner as UK students for the whole of their course.
"We are delighted to be able to maintain our tradition of offering a very warm welcome and excellent experience to students from across the EU.”
