Visiting Professor Leading Pilot Scheme into Innovative Ear App

Visiting Professor at the Institute of Medical Sciences and Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Consultant Professor, Rahul Kanegaonkar, is leading a pilot scheme involving a mobile app which allows doctors and nurses to see inside patients' ears.

The Cupris Health app is being trialled in Medway, and it allows doctors and nurses to look inside the ears of their patients using an attachment which fits on to the mobile phone.

Professor Rahul Kanegaonkar is leading the pilot scheme at Medway Maritime Hospital, and explains that the app works to relay information back to a website which consultants can then access and examine.

This allows consultants like Professor Kanegaonkar to screen patients who need to see a consultant, and also to recommend initial treatment for those who don't need an immediate appointment.
