What is the procedure for children who are lost at your event?

Question:
What is the procedure for children who are lost at your event?
Answer:

Parents and guardians are responsible for the well-being of those under 18 years of age attending Graduation Ceremonies. Children and other guests do not sit with the students receiving their awards during the ceremony. Therefore, parents and guardians must ensure that their children always have a chaperone with them. Children are not permitted to cross the platform with the students. The University will not allow unaccompanied minors, and we may require the student to depart to care for the child.

If a child has been separated from their parent/guardian, staff will take public and visible routes through the venue to bring them to Security, the designated Meeting Point. The child will be accompanied by at least two identifiable members of staff, who will stay with them at all times until reaching Security. Staff will message the group to inform them of the missing child so the parent/guardian can be directed to the Meeting Point. Security will follow procedures to inform authorities as appropriate.
