 The Hydra Simulation Centre offers a unique learning environment designed for immersive, simulated scenarios that enhance training and decision-making.

This advanced training tool enables the monitoring of group dynamics, real-time leadership, and naturalistic decision-making during critical incidents.

Hydra has successfully supported the training of police officers, emergency personnel, healthcare professionals, and military personnel, both in the UK and internationally.

A typical Hydra exercise

In a Hydra exercise, participants begin with a briefing in the plenary room, where they receive essential information about the exercise and their roles.

They then move to syndicate rooms to engage with simulated scenarios, utilising audio clips, video materials, and documents to guide their decisions. Participants record their choices using Hydra software whilst subject-matter experts monitor interactions from the control room.

After the simulated event, participants reconvene to discuss their decisions and  impact on the exercise's progression. Scenarios typically last between three to six hours, though some can span three consecutive days.
