Six reasons to choose student accommodation

Our student accommodation is close to our Canterbury Campus and there’s lots of choice to suit you and your budget.

1. Live with other students and make friends for life

Living in our university accommodation means you’ll live with other students who have moved to University for the first time, too.

In our student accommodation, you’ll have a study bedroom in either a flat or a house, we have shared and en-suite rooms and this will be sharing with between two to eight other people. Most of our accommodation includes a communal lounge and dining area so is a perfect opportunity for you to make new friends, share common interests and enjoy all your accommodation and local area have to offer!

2. Feel safe with 24-hour security

Your new home will feature 24-hour security, on-site or a short call away, and you can keep in contact with our Security team using our free SafeZone app.

ResLife Ambassadors also live in each of our accommodation blocks. They’re second year, third year and postgraduate students who have been through the experience before. They’re on hand to help you settle in and support you during your time living at uni.

What's really fantastic about living in uni accommodation is that all my friends are just a floor away from me. It's also great that I am only a 10 minute walk to the University, a two minute walk to the library and a five minute walk into town. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

3. No summer rent or bills

Our contracts are approximately 39 weeks (unless you are in a studio which is 51 weeks), so you can move out and stop paying at the end of June, which will save you money in time for the summer. If you’d like to stay for longer, you can request an extension.

4. All bills included

Living in uni accommodation is the best way of adapting to independent living. All your bills are included in the annual price, so you won’t have to worry about paying separately for your bills.

This will cover your electricity, water, communal tv licence and you will be exempt from council tax due to your student status. All accommodation has free fast Wi-Fi, meaning you’ll be able to keep on top of your studies and up-to-date with what's happening.

5. You're guaranteed a room*

As a first year undergraduate who has firmly accepted an offer of a place to study with us, you’re guaranteed a room in our university accommodation. All you need to do is visit our website, view the accommodation options available to you and apply.

Make sure you submit your application before the deadline on 31 July to be guaranteed accommodation. If you're coming to us through Clearing, you may be able to take advantage of the accommodation guarantee as well*.
