Davidson, Lang and Temple Halls of Residence, first opened in 1963 and have been home to more than 4,000 students.
The halls have been demolished to also make way for Building 2.
Our plans to transform the site by creating public spaces for the community, and contemporary buildings for learning, teaching and research, while celebrating the city’s rich heritage, are well underway.
As part of our campus transformation, part of the non-listed prison wall and the prison backlands have been demolished to make way for Building 2, which will be home to courses in Science, Engineering, Technology and Medicine.
The plans will recreate the historic view of Canterbury Cathedral and St Martin’s Church – connecting the city’s heritage sites.
