Rochester Cathedral ceremony
Celebrating your academic achievements at the country's second oldest Cathedral.
Preparing for the day
Confirm your attendance
You're required to complete an online reply form 8 weeks prior to your ceremony. Whilst completing the online reply form you have the opportunity to purchase your allotted two guest tickets, priced at £22 per guest.
Any additional tickets (subject to availability) will be advertised at 09.00 two days after the closing date on the Graduation & Registry Events Office web page.
Hire your academic gown
Robes are mandatory and graduands must wear robes appropriate to the level of qualification being received. Even if you already hold a higher qualification, you must also hire a CCCU robe via our suppliers, Ede & Ravenscroft, who require 3 weeks’ notice of hire.
Visit the Ede & Ravenscroft website to hire your graduation gown.
Photography – prior to the ceremony
You and your guests have the opportunity to have official graduation photographs taken prior to the day of graduation. If you're unable to attend the ceremony, this gives you the opportunity to still have professional photographs taken.
Ede & Ravenscroft will supply the appropriate gown for your award, there is no additional cost for this provision.
The University will endeavour to make reasonable provisions to enable graduands and guests with disability requirements to participate in and enjoy our graduations. You will have the opportunity to advise us of your requirements when completing your reply form, that will be available 8 weeks prior to your ceremony.
On the day
Getting to the venue
We cannot provide parking at the Corn Exchange, or at the Cathedral, but there are a number of pay and display car parks within walking distance.
Please visit the Medway Council website to find out the location of pay and display car parks across the city.
Studios set up at the Corn Exchange will capture photographs of you and, if you like, your guests. Photography packages can be preordered online via Ede & Ravenscroft, or you can either pay on the day or order your photographs online later.
The Cathedral ceremony starts at 10.30 and last for approximately 1 hour. Seating within the Cathedral is not tiered meaning some seats have restricted views. We recommend your guests arrive at the Cathedral as early as possible to ensure a good view.
If your friends and relatives are unable to attend the ceremony in person, live coverage of your ceremony will be available to watch online.
Celebratory drinks will be held at the Corn Exchange following the Cathedral ceremony.
