You are cordially invited to attend our twelfth annual Thomas Becket Lecture, hosted by the School of Humanities and the Centre for Kent History and Heritage at Canterbury Christ Church University. This free lecture is open to everyone. This year’s speaker is Dr Marie-Pierre Gelin of University College London, who will be speaking on ‘Thomas Becket and his Predecessors at Canterbury’. Dr Gelin is a leading authority on Becket, and her publications include two excellent books on St Thomas and Canterbury: The Cult of St Thomas Becket in the Plantagenet World, c. 1170-c. 1220, ed. Paul Webster and Marie-Pierre Gelin (Woodbridge, 2016), and Marie-Pierre Gelin, Lumen et revelationem gentium: iconographie et liturgie a Christ Church Canterbury, 1175-1220 (Brepols, 2006).
