There’s inspiration for a writer everywhere, but how do you find ideas that light your creative fire? In a supportive atmosphere of focus and enjoyment, we’ll discover inspiration in unlikely places and look at how to transform ideas into vivid, satisfying fiction through a mixture of exercises, readings and discussions. You’ll build up a folder of ideas and hopefully one or two finished pieces. Whether you’re interested in short stories or working on a novel, you’ll hone skills that make for robust and engaging writing. With workshop sessions in the mornings, time to write after lunch, and at the end of the day a chance to read aloud (always optional) and to discuss the day’s work. Shy beginners, re-starters, and experienced writers are all welcome.
*Non-residential. Morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch included. For help finding accommodation in Canterbury, please contact the CAE administrator on 01227 863451 or email education.communityarts@canterbury.ac.uk
