Demand is increasing and becoming more complex for the police to manage. The extent and consequences of certain wicked problems is challenging a stretched police service in the UK. Our 2018 annual CCPR conference considers some of these issues from both an academic and practitioner perspective particularly in relation to the crucial role of partnerships in this context. The two days will also focus on other wicked, internal and cultural issues and the way in which managing demand in this context impacts on the well-being of police officers themselves.
