If you enjoy entertaining, dressing up, acting and have a creative flair, then this course is for you.
This day school will explore how to write a murder mystery event
and will involve practical exercises on how to generate story ideas
and settings, write backstories for each character, establish motives
and opportunities to commit a crime, build up tension through
scripted dialogue, interpret clues and identify red herrings. We will be looking at what makes a good character, and how important it is to create credible evidence which confuses but never deceives.
Participants will learn about the mechanics of structuring and performing a murder mystery and will receive advice on invitations, menus and costume.
We will be reading some scripted material to get into the mood so be prepared to let your hair down.
