Saturday 16 December 2017|10am-4pm Tutor: Michelle Crowther | Canterbury campus | £45 If you enjoy entertaining, dressing up, acting and have a creative flair, then this course is for you. This day school will explore how to write a murder mystery event and will involve practical exercises on how to generate story ideas and settings, write backstories for each character, establish motives and opportunities to commit a crime, build up tension through scripted dialogue, interpret clues and identify red herrings. We will be looking at what makes a good character, and how important it is to create credible evidence which confuses but never deceives. Participants will learn about the mechanics of structuring and performing a murder mystery and will receive advice on invitations, menus and costume. We will be reading some scripted material to get into the mood so be prepared to let your hair down.
